Chocolate Brownies

The most delicious brownies that I've ever had. I've used them as currency for over half my life and all over the world. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 4 oz plain chocolate
  • 4 oz butter
  • 3 oz plain flour
  • 1 oz cocoa
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 8 oz caster sugar
  • 2 eggs

Instructions

  • Preheat oven at 180ºC/350ºF/gas mark 4/ bottom of the top oven.
  • Line an 11" x 7" tin.
  • Melt the chocolate above simmering water, and then melt the butter into it (or use the microwave).
  • In another bowl mix together the dry ingredients.
  • Add the chocolate/butter mix and stir well.
  • Beat the eggs lightly and add to the mix.
  • Pour into the tin and cook for 25 to 30 mins until solid and cracked on top but still slightly gooey.
  • Allow to cool in tin for 10 mins before removing and allowing to cool completely.
